Brecon Beacons
Three-day brain and body re-set
13th-16th May 2022

Join us for Yoga Moves' first retreat since 2019, in a beautiful brand new location, Brecon Beacons, South Wales.

This retreat is the perfect opportunity to "get away from it all" and to really spend time prioritising your own (quite possibly neglected) physical, mental and emotional needs.

The combination of (fully optional) activities and pursuits have been carefully curated so that guests can enjoy a full brain and body re-set.

Guests can dip in and out of the programme (see inclusions, right) as well as enjoy additional bodywork, reiki, reflexology and walks.  Or if preferred, just curl up in their room or one of the many lounge spaces with a book or for complete rest.

Our aim is that people tune in fully and listen to their bodies and leave feeling fabulous and transformed in some way.

The Property

A Grade II listed farmhouse with an incredible Great Barn is where indoor yoga classes take place.  It also provides a warm communal space, definitely the hub of the retreat.

Weather permitting, yoga will also take place outside in the gorgeous grounds and atop the Skirrid mountain at dawn.

Included in the weekend
  • Six nourishing, grounding yoga classes, including stronger vinyasa and relaxing Yin.  Vicki Snow and Sarah Garbett will both be hosting and teaching.   Beginners and intermediates will be catered for.
  • Sun Salutations and wake up yoga on Skidd mountain top at sunrise, including hike up!  A truly glorious morning start with views for miles across stunning countryside (and possibly some cloud tops) at the most magical time of day.
  • Wild swimming in nearby ponds with a local guide and picnic lunch.  Don't miss this exhilarating swim, bringing you closer to nature and self connection.
  • Hormone balancing talk (very popular): hormones are the signals that tell our tissues, organs and body functions what to do (including storing or burning fat). When out of balance, we carry extra weight and don't perform or feel our best. This 60 minute talk covers how to get it right for optimal health.
  • Yogic style self-compassion practice. This can be underestimated but it’s very powerful and PIVITOL in ending internal struggles (’the inner mean girl’ at work).
  • Meditation and checking-in practices - working on the skill of self connection and listening to your body and what it needs.
  • Locally sourced fine veggie / vegan food expertly prepared and cooked by talented local chef.

About Vicki Snow
I am Vicki Snow, an experienced yoga practitioner and teacher and wellness and weight loss coach.

I discovered yoga in a large light filled studio in West London in 2001. I have been teaching for seven years: Rocket yoga, vinyasa flow, classic Hatha and Yin.

I run weekly classes, retreats, wellness events and a 12-week transformational weight loss programme for women incorporating yoga, hormone balancing, mindset work and emotional eating solutions.

Yoga became my healthy obsession 20 years ago and still is to this day. Through many life challenges, I have kept yoga extremely close. It’s never let me down!

About Sarah Garbett
Yoga started to become meaningful to me whilst on a year-long sabbatical when I worked at a health retreat and made quite a radical change to my lifestyle.

After I dealt with my ego (which was primarily concerned with learning how to stand on my head or hands) what was most refreshing to me about yoga was that it didn't focus on the mirror image of my body or an attempt to make it look perfect.

After a couple of years practicing more seriously with various visiting teachers at the retreat, in 2015 I completed a Spirited Hatha Vinyasa teacher training with David Lurey and Mirjam Wagner. I then spent a few years living a working at yoga retreats, contributing to a retreat review website and studying in related practices such as Thai Yoga Massage and Sky Yoga (using aerial silks).

A typical class with me starts with breath-work and body awareness. It will flow through sun salutations and a mix of balance postures, and finish with some slower, deeper postures for a final 'rinse' before savasana. I also teach Yin yoga, often with music that I feel guides students into a meditative state. All are welcome at my classes, and options are given to suit levels of experience.
